Dulux Select Decorators – 2022 Awards

Terms & Conditions

1. By entering into the 2022 Dulux Select Decorator Awards (“Awards”), Participants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
2. These Awards are open to professional decorators who are current members of the Dulux Select Decorators Scheme and resident in the United Kingdom (including Northern Ireland, Channel Islands and Isle of Man (“Participants”) and excludes employees of the AkzoNobel group of companies (the “Companies”) or employees of any participating stores, their families or agents or any other person connected with the Awards.
3. Participant’s entries must be for work of a domestic nature, undertaken and completed by themselves or by their team whilst a member of the Dulux Select Decorators Scheme, and completed using only AkzoNobel products, within the period from 1st January 2022 up to and including 30th September 2022.
4. For entries to be eligible for winning the prizes, participants must have obtained written consent of the Homeowner to enter the work done in their home into the Awards and to permit the Companies to use any photos supplied with entries in any marketing or advertising by the Companies. It is the Participants responsibility to seek the Homeowner consent prior to submitting entry.
5. Entries to the Awards will only be accepted via the official online entry form at www.duluxselectawards.com. Participants must submit all the required information between 1st August 2022 (“opening date”), and by midnight on the 30th September 2022 the (“closing date”).
6. No responsibility will be accepted for entries that are incomplete, corrupted, against the spirit of the Awards or submitted late and the Promoter may exclude entries on such basis.
7. The Categories are:
   • Painted Interior Project (to the value of £2,499)
   • Painted Interior Project (over £2,500)
   • Exterior Project
   • Colour of the Year – Blue Skies
   • Wallpaper Installation (to the value of £1,500)
   • Wallpaper Installation (over £1,500)
   • Sprayed Finish
   • Best Newcomer
   • Adding Colour to People’s Lives
   • Apprentice Mentor
   • Scheme Supporter

   and one winner will be selected from each Category. One Grand winner will be selected from

   • Painted Interior Project (to the value of £2,499)
   • Painted Interior Project (over £2,500)
   • Exterior Project
   • Colour of the Year – Blue Skies
   • Wallpaper Installation (to the value of £1,500)
   • Wallpaper Installation (over £1,500)
   • Sprayed Finish
   • Best Newcomer
   • Adding Colour to People’s Lives

   The winning submissions will be judged on their displayed workmanship, customer satisfaction, how they have overcome challenges and the skills used to execute the project.

8. Each Category winner will receive £500 worth of Dulux Decorator Centre vouchers and an onsite photoshoot with a professional photographer appointed by AkzoNobel. The Grand winner will receive a year’s supply of Dulux Trade Diamond Products to the value of £5,000 and the opportunity to feature in Dulux Select Decorator and / or Dulux Trade advertisements in agreement with AkzoNobel and the Grand winner.
9. There are no prize alternatives and prizes cannot be exchanged for cash.
10. Shortlisted entries will be announced by 1st November 2022. Awards will be presented at a Gala Dinner on 22nd November 2022. Prize winners not present at the Gala Dinner will be notified by 1st December 2022.
11. In the event of any dispute the decision of the Promoter is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
12. The prize winners may be asked to participate in future publicity or PR activities including the taking and publication of photographs. By participating in these Awards, participants agree to take part in future publicity.
13. Data protection. The Promoter is committed to protecting the privacy of participants. Any information connecting in conjunction with these Awards will only be used by the Promoter or its agents future marketing and promotion purposes and will not be passed onto any thirds parties other than agents instructed by the Promoter in connection with future promotions, offers and events. By submitting an entry, Participants agree to be bound by the Privacy Policy.
14. The Participant acknowledges and agrees that, by submitting/uploading a photograph in connection with these Awards, he/she thereby grants an exclusive, irrevocable, perpetual and royalty-free license to the Promoter to use and reproduce that photograph. The Promoter is committed to protecting the privacy of participants and Homeowners. Any personal information collected in connection with these Awards will not be disclosed at any time and will only be used in connection to the competition.
    The Participant warrants to the Promoter that any submitted/uploaded photograph is the result of his/her original work and that the use and reproduction of the photograph does not and will not infringe any intellectual property rights owned by third parties. The Participant agrees to indemnify the Promoter in full in relation to any losses, costs or expenses which may be suffered by it in connection with any breach of this warranty by the Participant.
15. The Promoter reserves the right to amend or withdraw these Awards in whole or in part without prior notice or compensation
16. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage caused by the negligence of the Promoter, it’s employees or agents out of or in connection with the Awards except were caused by the wilful neglect of the Promoter, its employees or agents. Nothing in this clause is deemed to exclude or restrict liability for death or personal injury resulting from the negligence of the Promoter, its employees or agents.
17. The Awards are governed by the law of England and Wales and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
